How does the illustration of my baby get scaled to actual size at birth?
In preparation for your image’s creation, we ask that you provide us with a photograph of your newborn baby. From this photo, we artistically illustrate your baby using their exact height measurement.
*As most photos provided have baby legs in a bent position, I created an arcuate scaling measurement system. Please remember, however, that every child is proportioned differently.
While some illustrations may not be 100% accurate, they will be very close.
What is the best way to take the photo?
- Lay your baby down flat on their back or side.
- Without clothes so we can see all of their gorgeous body creases (nappy off or private area covered with small cloth is preferred).
- Take photo from directly above.
- Baby’s arms can be curled up, but not spread out to both sides in a T shape.
(An example of what not to have is in the photo gallery. The print is limited by width, so ensuring arms are not splayed out means no part of your baby will be cut out of the design).
*If you don’t have a photo that meets these specifications e.g. wearing clothes or is in NICU please email your photo through to email@example.com and I will double check that it is usable before you please your order. In most cases they are fine and you can go ahead with the order.
How should I position my baby for the photograph?
The illustration works better if baby’s head is turned to one side so you can see their side profile. That tiny noise is so adorable, so make sure you try to get it in shot.
What if a small part of bub is missing from the photo?
It’s ok if a few cute little toes, fingers or the top of bub’s head are out of frame. Full body shots are preferred, but we will do our best to make the image as close to that of your baby as possible.
Is it ok if baby is in a singlet or singlet suit?
Yes. As long as his/her arms and legs are uncovered and bub’s positioning is correct, your photo will be usable.
What size is Precious Little Print?
50 x 70 centimetres.
Does the picture need to be a newborn?
It is best for the image to be as close to newborn as possible. However a 0-4 month old will still be usable, they may just be slightly chubbier than their newborn self.
How much is shipping?
We offer free shipping Australia wide. Shipping for anywhere outside of Australia will be calculated at checkout. We take great care when posting our prints, they are rolled and posted in mailing tubes to ensure they are delivered to their new home in perfect condition.
How long will it take for my print to arrive?
- Australia: 2-4 weeks
- Rest of the world: 2-5 weeks
If you require your print urgently, please email before placing your order at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you forget, just make sure you contact us as soon as possible after you’ve made your purchase.

Who will create the illustrations?
All illustrations are created by our designer Breeahn Muller, the creator of Aniky.
What if my print looks different from photo?
It’s important to remember that all artwork will be slightly different to your photograph as each image is artistly illustrated. The illustration you receive will still be highly recognisable as your bub, but we unfortunately cannot offer refunds or exchanges due to the nature of the artwork.
Can I return my print?
As Precious Little Print is custom made and one of a kind, we unfortunately cannot accept returns or offer refunds.
